YouTube Coaching for Beginner & Existing Content Creators

I made a viral video with almost 25 million views on my old BabyAlien83 channel. This is more views than most YouTube content creators will ever get. If I had partnered this channel – It could have netted me a tidy sum on just that video alone!

Was the video easy to make? Yes – if you consider the actions I took, a bit like circling 6 numbers on a lotto ticket with a pen. The video took me under 2 hours, low effort and I had very little experience at the time. Winning the lottery however, just like this video is only easy if we are very VERY lucky. This is NOT skill.

In Year 2020 an incredible 88% of videos uploaded to YouTube never broke 1000 views! To make matters worse, a tiny minority of youtubers soak up the vast majority of the views. What this means is the bottom 99.9% of youtube content creators are fighting for the minority of views. Sounds hopeless right?? Well, not exactly. YouTube’s closing in on 100,000 silver play buttons, which is kinda ironic as channels need 100,000 subscribers to get such a button.

I know channels who don’t even have a silver play button who easily make 6 figures from ad revenue alone. Once merch, sponsorships & memberships are factored in, this can more than double. So what’s stopping you?

There’s a few things I can’t help with. You have to want this. It’s not easy to do, and it requires effort and an investment of effort. If you’re starting from zero today, you have to expect that it’s unlikely you’ll see a penny until 3 months MINIMUM. Sure there’s a few stories from high energy kids who know exactly what they’re doing, but like winning the lotto, or top city banking execs, these are few and far between.

There’s no magic button (REALLY!! Sorry I know there’s a rift of youtube videos that say something like – make $100k easy with AI generated videos – I’ll say 1 word to that.. Bollox)

Different people use different numbers to describe “viral video”. I’ve heard people who normally get 50 views on a video, describe 500 views as “it went viral” – and for them, relatively speaking, perhaps it did. Personally, I use the metric, if a couple million people saw the video, it went viral. Some people always have viral videos, most will never get close – unless of course, you shift the definition down by a few zeros!

I have made 3 monetised YouTube channels from scratch in the last 18 months or so, and run them all solo (3 different genres – content mixing is bad).

Becoming a YouTube partner (so monetising you channel) in my experiences, involves about 25% knowledge, 20% experience, 50% effort, and 5% luck. I can’t help you with the last 2, but I can assist you with knowledge, and I can work with you as you gain up your experience, until you feel ready to go full power by yourself.

Many people incorrectly associate these extreme examples on YouTube, or success stories like Mr Beast, Casey or any other bigtime channel. They wrongly assume it must be the norm. As we’ve already said, attention grabbing thumbnails that say things like “you too can make easy money with youtube and AI and bla bla” really doesn’t help matters. But we can use this to our advantage – this is why 99% of “wannabe youtubers” will literally give up before ever getting more than a small handful of subscribers.

If you think it’s easy to do youtube today, stop right now (you’re about 10 years too late!). Unscrew your head, put it down carefully, and give it a good kick across the room. Screw it back on, and ask yourself why are you here if it’s that easy?

Multi Channel Networks (MCN’s) are notoriously unhelpful greedy lot. They offer no help (beyond copy pasted links to regurgitated generic content, and no specialised customised personal 1:1 help) – in return have you sign over a huge percentage of your revenue for years, and sometimes even promote the MCN. Spend a few minutes looking this, if you need any further convincing. (Take Gyle’s channel back in the day! Watch his first video after getting out that contract!) Steer well clear!

Personalised 1:1 YouTube Coaching

If You are interested in YouTube coaching / Lessons, I can help in all areas, from day 1 aspects like setting up equipment, software, advice in equipment – and from that day, everything you need along the journey to become monetised. If you speak English well (required as I do), are good at something, and/or very passionate (both is best), and your topic isn’t something like “The chemical composition of deep sea fossils gramatical etymology” then I guarantee you, that YOU CAN BECOME MONETISED.

in order that neither of us is wasting our own time or money, I can offer you an initial consult for 15 minutes free of charge. This will allow you some time to tell me your goals and objectives, and where you are so far, as well as any stumbling blocks you may have come across. During the 15 minutes, I’ll be able to ask you questions along the way, to assess your own unique situation, and if I think I can help you or not. You MUST tell me your subject matter/content type – for me to honestly assess your chances of success. If you pick something too heavily saturated (say GTA5 playthrough) or too rare (like my silly deep sea rock example) then I will say so in the 15 minutes.

2023 Cost

After the initial assessment, sessions are available (2023 prices)

From £30 per hour ($35 US / €35). £50 for a 2-Hour Slot ($60 / €60). The reason I don’t charge more, is because most budding youtubers are not in a financial position to be able to pay more. If you are unable to afford these costs, then you may also struggle to afford the essential bits equipment. It’s true an old smartphone is enough to make a video and upload it, but you have to consider – who wants to watch that? Peoples expectations are leaps and bounds ahead of what they were 5 years ago. 10-15 years ago, people would watch anything (see my old babyalien83 channel!)

It is absolutely crucial you recognise this is an investment of your time. There is so much to learn, and I’m happy to go at your speed. It’s also important to understand that it is VERY EASY to end up “giving yourself away” in the youtube business. I see this an awful lot, and it makes people rich, but depressed with it… It’s crucial you strike a balance between “doing what’s right” vs “this will get more clicks”

During your initial assessment, it is important to have the following information to hand:

  • What is it you want to make your videos on? (not all subjects are viable)
  • What equipment you already own in regards to making videos (include smart phone / make and model, as well as camera, drone, or Game capture card etc)
  • any other software, and your computer type (pc or Mac etc) you’ll be using.
  • a budget, if any at all, for any new equipment/services.
  • are you able to speak confidently into a microphone?
  • how are you with Photoshop?
  • have you made any thumbnails before?
  • lastly and most importantly – What if you goal? Just to make videos for a few interested folk, earn a bit of pocket money in process? Or even further…

please note, while I’m very happy and willing to help anyone, no matter where from, it’s important we are able to communicate effectively. English speaking/listening to a reasonablly good standard is essential, as well as a working audio/mic. (We MUST be able to speak, and don’t want to waste our time trying to resolve technical issues).

I will say, if you are someone who is too nervous to speak on a microphone with even 1 person, you will probably struggle with youtube channels. It’s almost impossible to make it on youtube without at least a voice (I bet you couldn’t name more than 1 example!)

i can help with all issues involved in making videos, including production, ideas, thumbnails, audio & editing, video & editing (premier, audition, Photoshop, lightroom). There’s also quite a lot of psychology involved in it, which I’m happy to share. Again, there’s ethics here, and I always aim to be ethical. If you prefer to venture beyond those same ethics, all I will say is, you got to go to sleep with yourself every night, what’s it worth to you?

Regarding software, If you prefer to use something other than Adobe, then I won’t be able to help you with the “how to use the software aspect” directly. If you haven’t already done so, we can set you up to a free trial with Adobe, to get you started – it’s a great set of tools to learn, especially if you are intending to make content in the longer term. If you use copied or cracked software, while I can’t really condone this, nor help with such things, nor do I judge either. We are here for youtube, and that’s all.

So what’s next?

Use the contact page to email me, and request an initial consult. We can communicate via Discord or Skype (ensure you have working audio). After our consult, I will know what your wants, needs and skills are, and what help you need – and importantly, if I am able to provide that. If I don’t think I can help you (for example, you want to grow a big youtube channel by filming paint dry) then I will say so. I do not want you to pay for advice to say it won’t work – which is why I offer a free consult.

I realise I have already said this, but it’s vital to understand. This is NOT an easy fix, easy win method of making money. It requires effort, practice & skill – and I can’t do that for you. I can coach you along every step, I can give you all the information, help, hints & tips along the way, and so long as you put in the effort, you will succeed in becoming monetised, and continue to grow. There may be times, where we will need to share our screens for some reason or other – depending on what device(s) you are using, we will find the best free solution, at such time.

There’s no fixed course per se that I do, it’s completely custom tailored to your needs, and encompasses the entire process of making videos, and is a 2 way conversational process. You either need help in some, or all areas, at various levels, and there’s where I’ll fit in. (And please don’t ask me about how to make AI write videos and generate content etc – its NOT happening!)

And 1 last thing – it’s ok to make bad videos that almost nobody watches… TO BEGIN WITH. That’s how we ALL start. After that, we have a baseline, and must begin to improve, video by video. Together we will improve at least 1% per video (hopefully much more!) then after 100 videos, you’ll be really good. It is generally agreed by 100 videos, a new youtube really knows what they are doing. I can help you for your first video, or your first hundred, however much you want and need. There’s no obligation to continue, so think carefully if this is what you really want to do.

I look forward to hearing from you, and working together with you build up your youtube channel. Goto contact page to drop us a message for a free consult. Make sure to include either your skype, or discord contact details.
